Archery and municipal sports schools

Another new initiative launched by the Sports Department of Javea is the introductory level free archery course that will run through September, every Tuesday and Thursday from 7.00 to 8.30 pm in the Municipal Sports Pavilion (Palau Municipal d'Esports Miguel Buigues). The classes are for both children and adults and will be taught by Jesus Aragon, who will provide all the necessary materials to those who want to try out this Olympic sport. Aragon pointed out that the classes will provide the basic notions of archery, a sport that "helps you work on your concentration and emotional restraint or impulse". It is also one of the few egalitarian sports, since it can be practiced by people of all ages, sexes and even by people with disabilities. Depending on the outcome of this activity, the Ayuntamiento will decide whether or not to include it as one more of the disciplines in municipal sports schools.
