Courcelles Statement

From Press Release which appeared in XAD: Doris Courcelles renuncia.....

Today, January 27th 2011, I presented a letter resigning from the Xàbia Municipal Council. Since my "difference" relating to the purchase of the Parkings, I thought it was the best and most ethical thing I could do. My political philosophy has been only to help, work and improve.

Hopes and promises are the lot of every election campaign, but to assume that afterwards they can be achieved is like living in "Utopia".

All I can say is that I'm going to stand again in order to continue the work I have started and to serve the citizens. When I say "citizens" I mean all residents of Javea. A large town which also includes the Old Town, the Arenal, the Port and many kilometres of urbanisations in which live more than 80 nationalities.

I do not want to be the centre of attention. I hope the Mayor and the members of the Town Hall Executive respect my decision and my misgivings about this very controversial topic.

The true hope I have is to be able to find "travelling" companions who can help me to move forward, and allow me to work harder and better. The three months that we have before the elections will allow me to have a "heath cure".

I will always be grateful to Eduardo Montfort for giving me the opportunity of being part of the Government of Xàbia.
