27 June 2008 - The Consortium for Economic Recovery, Marina Alta (CREAMA) had a general meeting in the Ondara Casa de Cultura. This body was launched in the early '90's. In 2004 it published a handbook. A complete guide for setting up a business.
The annual report included the following information:
- Creama had assisted in the setting up of 244 businesses and the direct creation of 331 jobs.
- It was responsible for drawing up feasibility plans, providing information on assistance and and subsidies, legal forms, tax and labour regulations, and new sources of employment and funding.
- 1221 actions of advice to entrepreneurs were given
- 382 advisories to already existing companies
- (55% to female, 45% to male applicants)
- The age group of entrepreneurs was between 26 and 40.
- Major Start-up groups were: Traders: 29%; Construction: 18%; Hotel / hospitality industry: 11%
The Local Technical Development Agencies of Benissa, Calp, Denia, Gata de Gorgos, Verger, Pedreguer, Pego, Ondara, Teulada and Xàbia are involved in supporting already established companies, helping to solve their problems and informing them about innovation, new regulations, opportunities for collaboration, specific training, and quality business.
According to the report, companies from one to four years old comprised 70% of consultations, most of them in commerce and they wanted more information on programs and subsidies.
CREAMA managed 771,171 euros in subsidies for enterprises in the Marina Alta.
