PRESS RELEASE
Javea relies on the impact of Fitur and maintain its own 42- metre stand
Tourism department renews its image at no added cost and will release two new guides on bicycle touring and the history of Javea
Javea. Wednesday, 28 December 2011. Javea's Councillor for Tourism, Antonio Miragall, presented the stand that the municipality will use to participate in the Fitur Trade Fair in Madrid, which will take place this year from 18 to 22 January in Ifema. The Councillor has highlighted the choice location of Javea's kiosk, which is in the middle of the access route between pavilions 5 and 7 of the trade fair, "one of the best places for the municipalities that are not going to the fair under the umbrella of the Valencian Community," the Councillor emphasised.
Miragall wished to stress that despite the cuts that are being implemented by his department, the commitment to Fitur and its impact on the market remains intact. For this reason, they decided this year to maintain the same presence as the previous years, with a 42-square-metre stand. The stand is still being manufactured and will reflect a fresh new style that will project the image of Javea that the Town Council is seeking. The name of the municipality is featured in both languages (Castilian and Valencian) and there will be two 42-inch screens projecting promotional videos of the municipality that invite visitors to enjoy the town for 365 days a year.
The cost of construction and assembly (23,500 Euros) of the new stand is slightly lower than the assembly alone of the stand that was being used for the past six years, and it will also project a new image. More importantly, since the new kiosk is reusable, it will translate into significant savings starting next year, when the assembly will cost only 11,000 Euros.
With regard to the promotional material to be presented at the most important national trade fair of its kind, the Councillor referred to the new bicycle touring guide, a long called for compilation of 10 cycling routes of varying difficulty through areas of extraordinary natural beauty such as Les Plans, the Javea parks, Montgó, Port and Cala Blanca, Rebaldí, Tarraula, Capsades forest, Tossal Gross, the coastal viewpoints or the Granadella.
Another novelty is the new History of Javea guide, which reviews local history and explains its impact on the most emblematic buildings of the Old Town, or the new brochure in eight languages that contains both the tourist map of the municipality and basic information of interest about Javea. Furthermore, the Councillor pointed out that the Town Hall of Javea has invited the businesses of the municipality dedicated to the travel and tourism industry to accompany them to the trade fair or provide them with their to advertising material to include at the stand.
The joint efforts between local government and private business to improve tourism planning and strategy have come together at the meeting of the Consell of Tourism, which met on Wednesday at 8.00 pm. In addition to Fitur, other issues presented by the Councillor are the new dramatised theatre route in the Port, entitled "The Port of Dreams", the incorporation of new technologies for promotional purposes, or the release the department's web page after years of blockage. The 2012 trade fairs calendar was also discussed (Utrecht, Brussels, Milan, Valencia, Barcelona, Bilbao, Cocentaina or Valladolid, in which we will participate in the Tour España, Costa Blanca or the Valencian Board of Tourism stands).
