The Department of Social Services Xàbia opened the registration period for “Vacaciones Sociales” (Applications open until July 18th, forms from the Centro Social)
To qualify you must be over 65 or a pensioner over 60, resident in the Comunidad Valenciana and be able to look after yourself. Spouses who meet the above requirements are also elegible and disabled persons (classified as having a disability of 45% or above) can also apply, provided they travel with their family.
This programme, supported by the Social Services consists of a grant for an 8 day (7 night) stay, with full board and lodging in hotels in tourist destinations of the Comunidad Valenciana such as Benidorm and Valencia, Peñíscola, Vinaroz, and Alcoceber Gandia, and the Balearic Islands, Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza
During this holiday period, the old folks can also enjoy numerous cultural activities, lectures and excursions.
