Public Attention Office

PRESS RELEASE

The Public Attention Office is Open for Business

Jávea. Tuesday, August 23, 2011.

As of today, the municipal offices above the Portal del Clot car park (number 2 Avenida Amanecer) are home to the Javea Town Hall Public Attention Office, where most of the administrative procedures and formalities will now be centralised. After some minor reconditioning works to convert the offices into a spacious, airy and much more comfortable place in which to serve the public, the staff began to relocate yesterday. As of today, they will attend the public from their new premises during their normal opening hours of 9.00 to 2.00.

According to the Councillor for Citizen Participation, Cesc Camprubi, after this reorganization, the citizens will have seven multi-purpose service desks at their disposal, all within a single office, where they may initiate any administrative procedures, with the exception of tax matters. The Economic Office at number 5 Calle Mayor will continue to carry out all tax related administrative procedures.

The Register, Environment, Services, Water Utility, Census (padrón), Agriculture and Beaches will now be located in the Public Attention Office. A table has also been reserved for the staff of the new Foreign Residents Office, who will be able to help foreigners with language difficulties communicate their needs to the service desks.

This reorganization also involves the transfer of the Town Hall staff assigned to the Public Works Department, which will now share the Technical Office with the Planning Department. Both departments are now located in the building in carrer d'Avall number 39.

Camprubi stated that the first impressions expressed by those who have come by the office today have been very positive. They have valued the convenience, the accessibility and the lack of parking problems. Work is also being carried out to develop an online e-administration, which they hope to have up and running in six months. The Finance Department also expects to be able to start accepting payment of rates with a POS terminal, which will avoid unnecessary trips between the municipal offices and banks.
