Race for Life Javea 2011
It’s time to get your running shoes out and get in training for Javea’s 6th annual Race for Life in aid of cancer charities. Sunday 25th September is the date for your diary, with the 5km race starting from the L’Ancora Playa bar in Avenida Paris, Javea, at approximately 11.00 hrs.
The charity “Race for Life Javea” sends a message of hope and support to all those battling against cancer, the families of patients, people who have lost loved ones, doctors, nurses, scientists and carers – in fact anyone who is dealing with cancer.
The day will start 10.30hrs with our fun warm up session - an experience not to be missed! The event is open to anyone of either sex and of any age. You can run, jog or walk the course, in fact if you can find someone to push you round in a pram or bring the dog then you will be welcomed! If you don’t fancy running it alone, why not get a team together from your local bar, business or just amongst your friends – and, of course, fancy dress makes it more of a fun day, although is not compulsory!
Money raised will be distributed between cancer charities and organisations within the Valencian community with the main beneficiaries of our 2011 event being Asociacion Espanola contra el cancer (AECC), Asociacion de Padres de Niños con cancer de la Comunidad Valenciana (Aspanion), Expatriate Ostomates of Spain (EOS) y MABs Cancer Support Group.
Registration and sponsorship forms are available at L'Ancora Playa bar or can be downloaded from our website – http://www.raceforlifejavea.com Registration forms should be completed and returned to L’Ancora Playa Bar, together with the registration fee, before the day of the race. Latecomers can still register on the day of the event, but please make sure you do so before 10.15hrs. There is a registration fee of 10 Euros for adults and 5 Euros for children age 14 and under. Apart from paying the registration fee we hope participants will help boost the funds by getting sponsorship from family and friends.
It promises to be a fun day out for all the family so please come along and support a very worthy cause.
