Música a L’Estiu fills Javea with a full programme of concerts the week of 24-29 July
The Xàbia Clásica festival in August is dedicated to Russian music this year

Javea. Monday, 16th July 2012. Classical music aficionados will have the chance to enjoy two world class concert series in Javea. Next week sees the opening of Musica at L'Estiu , a concert series that has been the star of July evenings in Javea for the last 27 years the night of July 27 years as part of the international music course that is directed this year by the prestigious maestro, Thomas Indermühle.

Admission is free to these concerts that are scheduled from Tuesday, 24th July to Sunday 29th July at 10.30pm in the square in front of the Professional Conservatory of Music, by the Plaza Constitucion.

The first concert on Tuesday the 24th will feature professors taking part in the international course, performing works by Mozart or Beethoven, while on Wednesday the 25th the same performers will offer a version of Mozart's “The Magic Flute”. On Thursday and Friday the chamber orchestra "I Solisti di Perugia" will take centre stage with a repertoire of music by Mozart, Britten, Grieg and Vivaldi. As with every year, the students themselves will perform on the last two days of the concert series with a repertoire that has yet to be finalised.

In addition to this, the municipality will also host the Xàbia Clásica festival in early August, which is a private initiative. In its third year, this series will be dedicated to Russian music and the three concerts will take place in the conservatory. On Thursday, 9th August there will be a concert of Spanish-Russian fusion music by Elena Mikhailova on the violin and Victoria t Mikhailova on the piano. On Friday 10th August, Margherita Marseglia and Il Concerto Academic Quartet will perform a repertoire of concert music for Russian royalty. The series will end with a vocal concert featuring Spanish and Russian songs, with the soprano Katerina Antipova and the pianist Eugenia Gabrieluk. Tickets to these concerts can be purchased for 20 Euros general admission, 15 Euros seniors over 65, and 10 Euros students.
