PRESS RELEASE

Javea Old Town businesses sponsor draw for a Valentine's Day romantic getaway

The association has special offers in shopping, eating and beauty treatments to celebrate this special day

Javea. Monday, 30th January 2012.

The Xàbia Histórica business association has given details of its new Valentines' Day campaign. Juan Luis Cardona, Councillor for Economic Development, announced that this year will be the first time that the campaign will offer other opportunities alongside the usual culinary ones, including discounts in shopping and beauty treatments. "The Association has changed its mindset and is using its imagination to come up with new ideas to revitalise the Old Town,” added the Councillor.

"Xàbia Histórica takes you along the paths of love" consists of four special routes to entice customers. These routes include offers from restaurants and night spots which have prepared special menus, cocktails and dance sessions for Friday 10th and Saturday 11th , as well as Valentine's Day itself on Tuesday 14th February.

New to this year's campaign are the “Beauty Rooms”, in which more than ten beauty and hair salons in the Old Town will be offering special treatments. There is also the "Opportunities Route" in which 30 establishments in the town will be offering discounts for those looking to buy the perfect gift for Valentine's day. Both are linked to the fourth pillar of the commercial campaign: the "Romantic Getaway".

Between Wednesday 1st February and Tuesday 14th February, all the businesses taking part in the initiative will offer their customers the opportunity to enter a draw for the romantic weekend trip for two. The winner will be the ticket whose numbers match the last four digits of the winning ONCE coupon on Tuesday 14th February. The participating businesses will also be promoting this campaign on their individual social media networks.

According to the President of the Xàbia Histórica association, the St. Valentine's day campaign is yet another marketing strategy aimed at revitalizing the old town and promoting the local businesses on special dates. "This is a way of competing with other leisure areas and shopping centres in the vicinity based on quality, charm and more diverse options," added the businessman Juan Planelles.
